At Oxford, I teach the first half of the graduate-level Financial Econometrics course in the MFE programme. I also deliver several modules of the first-year econometrics course in the MPhil in Economics programme.

Previously, at Bilkent University, I taught the full first-year econometrics curriculum in the MA in Economics programme, along with undergraduate courses in econometrics and statistics.

About the picture

This is a miniature by Laurentius de Voltolina titled “Aristotle Gives a Lecture”, dating from the second half of the 14th century. More information can be found on the Kupferstichkabinett (Staatliche Museen zu Berlin) webpage. The image offers a glimpse into what a medieval-style lecture might have looked like.

It is amusing that, despite the passage of so many centuries, the classroom experience hasn’t changed all that much. Some students are deeply focused, others are reading the text in front of them, and as we move toward the back of the room, we see more distracted students—some chatting with each other, and at least one dozing off (from boredom? tiredness?).
